Conservation & Threats

Wedge sea hares were not listed on the IUCN red list in 2012 (IUCN 2012). Aside from residing within protected marine parks in Australia, wedge sea hares are not a protected species in Australia nor do they have any identified immediate threats.

It is joked that the biggest threat to sea hares in general are the neurobiologists who like to study them.
